The Echo app and browser extension
Echo is software you run on your own Mac. The project does not operate any service for it and never receives your recordings, transcripts, notes, settings or usage data. The app and the extension contain no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting.
The browser extension reads only the meeting sites you enable (Google Meet, Zoom web and Microsoft Teams web) to detect an open meeting and your mute state. It captures audio only after you start a recording, keeps it encrypted in your browser, and sends it only to the Echo server running on your own computer. It does not use your camera, and it does not sell, transfer or share any data with anyone.
The full list of network requests the app can make is in thedocumentation.
